As we enjoy and are invigorated by our after-service Climate Revival programs, Stephen wants to remind all of us that we do the work of climate justice not out of duty or dour warnings (though the dangers we face are real enough). I have been preaching on this subject for decades and I have decided that the only real way to change people’s behavior is to change their hearts, and to change hearts you have to appeal to beauty and tenderness. I have deluged listeners with facts and arguments and every rhetorical thing I could think of, and the needle hasn’t shifted. But when we are confronted with the loveliness and fragility of this planet, something happens. A revival!
